Recently released from rehab, Lindsay Lohan is seeking the help of Inception star and ex-addict, Tom Hardy.
Hardy famously battled substance addiction early on in his career, but has been sober since 2003. His publicist confirmed with TMZ that he and Lohan have indeed been, "friends in recovery" and the two have been to dinner together.
Hardy advised Lohan to stay away from temptation, something she’s failed to do in the past. In September, only days after her court-mandated time in rehab at UCLA Medical Center, Lohan was back out at clubs with some bad influences.
When she tested positive for cocaine and failed her drug test, the actress was sentenced to 90-days in rehab, but was able to avoid a fifth trip to jail.
During this time, E! News reported that Lohan had been dropped from her starring role as porn star Linda Lovelace in Inferno. It seemed that director Matthew Wilder, who’d formerly sung Lohan’s praises and been willing to produce the film around her time in jail and rehab, decided Lohan had run out of second chances.
Many are hopeful that Lohan’s friendship with Hardy will have a positive influence on her continued recovery. Though she undoubtedly has a long road ahead if she wants to stay sober, surrounding herself with others in the industry who have successfully battled their addictions before her seems like a smart move.
If Lohan proves she can stay away from drugs and alcohol and keep herself out of trouble, Hollywood might just be willing to give her another shot at a career comeback.
